Sectional Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) Lining Services in Florida

Flotech Environmental provides sectional cured-in-place pipe (SCIPP) lining services for municipalities, utility authorities, general contractors, property managers, and engineering firms throughout Central Florida. Sectional CIPP is a trenchless rehabilitation method that installs a resin-saturated fiberglass liner across localized defects, including circumferential and longitudinal cracks, offset and open joints, root-intruded joints, and infiltration points. The liner is bonded to the host pipe under steam pressure to restore structural integrity without excavation, eliminating the cost and surface disruption of full-length lining or open-cut replacement when defects are isolated rather than continuous.

Sectional CIPP is the appropriate rehabilitation method when CCTV inspection identifies isolated defects within an otherwise structurally sound pipe segment. It is most effective where damage is concentrated at joints, lateral connections, or short cracked sections rather than distributed along the pipe. This method is also used when the host pipe retains sufficient structural capacity to support a partially deteriorated liner design under ASTM F1216 or ASTM F2599 standards, and when open-cut replacement is impractical due to depth, traffic impacts, restoration costs, or utility conflicts. It is also preferred when full-length CIPP would exceed the necessary scope based on defect length and concentration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sectional Pipe Lining FAQs

Here are some of the most common questions about our services, response times, and how we support infrastructure projects across Florida.

Full CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) lining rehabilitates an entire pipe segment from manhole to manhole. Sectional lining (SCIPP) targets a specific short section of pipe where there is an isolated defect. Sectional lining is typically more cost-effective when only one or a few spots require repair.

Sectional pipe lining can repair cracks, joint failures, offset joints, root intrusion, and other localized structural defects in sanitary sewer and stormwater pipelines. It is also used to stop active infiltration at specific locations.

Sectional lining is available for a range of pipe sizes and materials, including clay, concrete, PVC, and ductile iron. Flotech's technicians assess existing conditions and determine the appropriate lining system for each application.

Yes. Flotech performs CCTV inspection before pipe lining to confirm pipe conditions and defect locations, and a post-lining inspection to verify that the repair meets specifications and the liner is properly cured and installed.

Our Sectional Pipe Lining Services

Sectional Cured-In-Place Pipe Lining (SCIPP)

Sectional CIPP installs a short fiberglass liner saturated with thermoset resin across a localized defect within an otherwise sound pipe segment. The liner is positioned with an inflatable packer, pressed against the host pipe wall under air or steam pressure, and cured in place. Once cured, the liner bonds to the host pipe, restoring structural continuity, eliminating infiltration, and arresting further deterioration. Flotech installs SCIPP in gravity sanitary sewers and stormwater conveyance pipes ranging from 6″ through 96″ in diameter throughout Tampa, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando, working from existing manholes without excavation or surface disruption. A typical crew installs multiple sections per shift, with production rates driven by pipe diameter, defect spacing, and access conditions.

Pre-Lining Cleaning and CCTV Inspection

Successful CIPP installation depends on a clean, prepared host pipe. Flotech performs pre-lining cleaning with high-pressure water jetting at up to 100 GPM and 3,000 PSI, removing grease, scale, sediment, roots, and protruding service connections that would otherwise compromise liner adhesion or installation geometry. A pre-lining CCTV inspection verifies pipe condition, locates defects to the linear foot, and identifies lateral positions for post-cure reinstatement. Post-installation CCTV documents liner placement, surface finish, and lateral reinstatement quality for project close-out and warranty acceptance.

Lateral Reinstatement

After sectional CIPP installation, any service laterals temporarily covered by the liner must be reopened to restore flow from connected properties. Flotech’s robotic cutters reinstate lateral openings under live CCTV control, cutting precise, deburred openings that maintain hydraulic capacity and prevent debris snagging or root re-entry. All reinstatements are documented with post-cut CCTV for as-built records.

Point Repair and Chemical Grouting

For active infiltration at joints, hairline cracks, and lateral connections that do not require structural rehabilitation, Flotech provides chemical grouting using acrylamide or acrylate gel systems injected through packers under controlled pressure. Grouting seals the defect against groundwater infiltration without altering pipe diameter and is typically applied where the host pipe retains full structural integrity but exhibits leakage at joints. Flotech evaluates each defect against MACP and PACP condition data and recommends the most cost-effective rehabilitation method, including sectional CIPP, chemical grouting, or open-cut replacement, based on structural condition, infiltration severity, and project economics.
